What Your Donation Supports

Operating a sailing program requires boats, safety equipment, training, and travel to events. Donations directly support veterans participating in sailing and racing programs throughout the year.

$100 — Crew Supporter

Helps place a veteran on the water for a day of sailing.

Your support helps cover:

• Boat maintenance and upkeep

• Dockage and fuel

• Safety equipment and sailing gear

• Training days for new sailors

For many veterans, this is their first experience on a sailboat.

$500 — Racing Crew Sponsor

Supports veterans participating in organized racing events.

Your donation helps fund:

• Regatta entry fees

• Race coaching and skills training

• Transportation to local sailing events

• Safety gear used during racing

This level helps veterans transition from learning to sail to competing as part of a crew.

$1,500 — Veteran Racing Sponsor

Helps send a veteran to a major regatta or championship event.

Your support helps cover:

• Travel to national regattas

• Lodging during multi-day competitions

• Championship race entry fees

• Boat preparation and equipment

These events place veterans on the national stage of competitive sailing and build lasting bonds within the team.

 Support Veterans Through Sailing

The Valhalla Sailing Project helps veterans reconnect with purpose, teamwork, and community through the sport of sailing.

Many of the veterans who sail with VSP are living with service-connected disabilities or are navigating the difficult transition back into civilian life. Competitive sailing provides something familiar: a small team working together under pressure where every person has a job that matters.

On a racing sailboat there is no bench. Every crew member is essential.

Your donation helps place veterans back into that environment — one built on trust, responsibility, and shared mission.

Why Sailing Works for Veterans

Military service is built around small teams operating together under pressure. Every person has a role and every action affects the outcome.

Sailboat racing recreates that structure.

Crews must communicate clearly, react quickly, and trust each other completely. Veterans often rediscover the camaraderie and sense of purpose they experienced in service.

No one is asked to relive the past.

They simply join the crew and go to work.

The Impact

Through the Valhalla Sailing Project, veterans have:

• Learned advanced sailing and racing skills

• Competed in regional and national regattas

• Built strong friendships and support networks

• Reconnected with confidence and purpose

Sailing does not replace the past, but it gives veterans a place where they can move forward together.

Support the Mission

Every contribution helps place another veteran on the water and back into a team environment where they belong.
